meeting people BEFORE our arrival date

so after doing the program once I found that never talking to your future "friends" from the Disney College Program on the phone, Skype, or even seeing them in person can cause for REALLY awkward moments because of a few things to say the least.....

but with that being said I was fortunate enough to see a pretty awesome girl from Valparaiso, Indiana in person! and to say the least .... it WASN'T awkward!!!!!! especially after a few drinks haha

so props to you Lindsay and Jo Jo. the start of a beautiful friendship :)

Taste of Chicago

After finishing my last day of summer school (although I still need to take an online final exam) I made it a point to bring my camera with because I had around 5 hours to spare before I had an appointment with my counselor and I wanted to celebrate being free from classes..... so time went by, new music was found and I was able to type this paper for the financial aid office all before my counselor appointment regarding future planning for school :)

After the meeting I found an unusual amount of people in the city and was curious to know what was going on. So after walking, and doing a little quick investigation I came across Michigan ave partially blocked off and that's when it hit me!

*calling dad*

Me- "hey is the Taste of Chicago going on??"

Dad- "Yup I believe so, till this weekend" 

Me+city+full frame camera= photo adventure

So I took off and after checking the whole scene out I took a few pictures and headed home.

New Chapter and a New Friend

Countless hours of research, plenty of "are you kidding me?" remarks and lots of criticism and judgment came over me the last few weeks regarding my photography and decisions I have made, but quiet frankly I could careless.

The more and more I watch movies, videos, and homemade projects, the more visually inclined I became with my work. This result happened right after my first real spring break in California with Megan and all the amazing people I met there. after that experience I found my self allowing my senses to control how I viewed the world. From what I naturally see in conjunction with sound and occasionally scent or feel, I have come to the conclusion that I have evolved my passion for capturing moments in time, to remembering instances... instances that I can visually see from time to time not only in my head, but in front of me....

Video. video is what I'm referring to. I have grown this love for video in conjunction with the photos I have taken and with that being said I made a choice.

Either stick with the gear I have now and continue to build from what I have, or make the change and dive farther into the rabbit hole....I dove and didn't look back.

I sold all of my Nikon gear (with the exception of two lenses I still need to sell) in exchange for a new camera.... but not just any camera. I made the change to canon. YES I said canon. I made the change for a multitude of reasons including its video quality as oppose to Nikons. Do I care what most people think? no, I made my decision knowing very well all the consequences both good and bad and I am happy with my decision.

With that being said I not only got a canon.... but I also got a full frame canon. Now a lot of you don't quiet understand what going full frame is like to a photographer, so my best way of describing it is like this

and with that being said, I tested out my new Canon 5D mark ii (since its cheaper now with the mark iii out) and this is what I ended up with

100th post and a new start

I REALLY need to get this daily blogging thing rolling. I have approximately 3 weeks now till I head out on the open road to florida and I have done zero preparation for this journey..... except download music and work..... my excuse is that I have summer school, but this is the last week of that so its now crunch time.

Caught up in the moment I finally got to hang out with michelle, not just once but TWICE AND got to hang out with Mr. Brian walsh and (as michelle calls him) "Nicky" for the first time outside of auditions for entertainment!

With all that being said, I was able to have two photo adventures with my camera. from the beach, navy pier and fireworks, to weird "small world" situations, and frozen yogurt we had a blast, but it was sadly the end of a journey with my best friend (before anyone freaks out, its my camera) my Nikon D7000.

Caught up in time, and tough decisions, and ideas that would pertain to my future career, I made a HUGE decision in my path, my journey and with that being said I had two final photo adventures with a friend who showed me a "whole new world" through a piece of glass and a little creativity.

But when one door closes, another one opens and I've been looking for this opened door for a long time now, and I finally feel as though I made the choice I've been wanting to for a long time, but until tomorrow, here's a few from the last adventure with an old friend.
